Free QR code generator

Paste a link or type some text, and download a QR code as a PNG or SVG. It is made in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

A link should start with https:// so phones open it in the browser.

About 15% can be damaged; a good default for screens and cards. Higher levels still scan when part of the code is scratched or covered, but make the pattern denser.

This is a static QR code: what you type is stored in the code itself and can't be changed after printing.

QR code ready: 25 by 25 modules, error correction medium.

Free, no sign-up. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us.

How to use it

  1. Paste the full link, including https://, or type the text you want people to see when they scan.

  2. Pick an error-correction level. Medium suits most uses; choose High if the print will be outdoors or on a rough surface.

  3. Download the PNG for WhatsApp, Facebook and Word files, or the SVG for a printer or designer, who can scale it to any size.

  4. Scan the downloaded file with two different phones before you print anything.

Menus and price lists

Put a QR on the table stand that opens your menu page or a PDF, so customers can read it on their own phone.

Shop counters and packaging

Link to your Facebook page, Instagram, Daraz store or website so a customer can find you again later.

Posters and flyers

Send people to a registration form, a Google Maps pin or an event page instead of asking them to type a long address.

Tips

Static and dynamic QR codes

The code you make here is static. The link is written into the pattern, so the code works without any server and never expires, but it always opens exactly what you typed. If the link changes, you print a new code. It also can't tell you how many people scanned it.

A dynamic QR code holds a short link instead, which forwards to your real address. You can change where it goes after printing, and each scan is counted. That suits menus, flyers and packaging that stay in circulation for months.

Common questions

Is this QR code static or dynamic?

Static. The link or text is written into the pattern itself, so it works for as long as that link works, but it cannot be changed after you print it and it does not count scans. A dynamic QR code points to a short link that you can redirect later and that records scans; golinq.me offers dynamic codes on its QR codes feature.

Will the QR code expire?

No. A static code has no server behind it, so there is nothing to expire. It stops being useful only if the link inside it stops working, for example when a website is taken down.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

PNG is an image that works everywhere: WhatsApp, Facebook, Word and most printers. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, which is what a print shop or designer will usually ask for.

What does error correction mean?

It is extra data that lets a phone read the code when part of it is dirty, torn or covered. Higher levels survive more damage but make the pattern denser, so they need a slightly larger print.

Is my link sent anywhere?

No. The code is generated by JavaScript in your browser. The text you type is not sent to golinq.me or anyone else, and the page does not track what you make.

Can I use the QR code commercially?

Yes. The codes are yours to print on menus, packaging, signboards and ads. There is no watermark and no attribution needed.
